These anti-oxidants break down fatty substances like cholesterol in the bloodstream. Along with these phenolics, magnesium is another good quality found in chocolate. Keeping your bodies magnesium levels up helps reduce the risk of hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and more.
A good quality chocolate is known for its high levels of cocoa solids. Most ‘brand names’ remove these in favor of more unnatural ingredients such as sugar and fat. While these chocolates still taste ok, at best, all the healthy elements have been removed. A terrible waste.
